Eligibility Criteria of DLSA Kamrup Metro Recruitment 2021
Educational Qualification:
Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel:
L.L.B. along with practice in Criminal Law for at least 10 (Ten) years
Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel:
L.L.B. along with practice in Criminal Law for at least 7 (Seven) years
Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel:
L.L.B. along with practice in Criminal Law for at least 3 (Three) years
Office Assistants:
Graduation with a six (06) months computer diploma /Certificate with proficiency in MS Office, Internet & email. Typing speed of 40 wpm is desirable.
Receptionist-cum Data Entry Operator:
Graduation with a six (06) months computer diploma /Certificate with proficiency in MS Office, Internet & email as well as Computer Hardware operation.
Office Peon:
Class 10th passed
Age Limit as on 01/01/2021
Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel: Not less than 35 years
Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel: Not less than 35 years
Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel: Not less than 30 years
Office Assistants: 18 years to 40 years
Receptionist-cum Data Entry Operator: 18 years to 40 years
Office Peon: 18 years to 40 years

Selection Procedure:
Legal Aid Defence Counsel shall be engaged on a contract basis in each project district initially for a period of two years with a stipulation of extension on satisfactory performance if the project continues. Selection of Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel and also of the ministerial staff will be based on merit, taking into account the knowledge, skills, and experience of candidates. The selection shall be carried out by the Selection Committee as envisaged in NALSA (Free and Competent Legal Services) Regulations 2010 (See more in official advertisement details).
