Eligibility Criteria of UPSC CDS Examination I 2024
To apply for the UPSC CDS Examination I 2024, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Nationality: A candidate must be unmarried and must either be:
(i) a Citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates under (ii) and (iii) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. Gorkha subjects of Nepal are exempt from this requirement.
Age Limits, Sex, and Marital Status:
Different institutes have specific criteria:
- IMA & Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born between 2nd January 2001 and 1st January 2006.
- Air Force Academy: 20 to 24 years as of 1st January 2025. Relaxation for candidates with a valid Commercial Pilot License.
- Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Men): Unmarried males born between 2nd January 2000 and 1st January 2006.
- Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Women): Unmarried women born between 2nd January 2000 and 1st January 2006, including issueless widows and divorcees.
