State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam has released a recruitment notification for the recruitment of 540 Constable vacancy in Assam Police Radio Organisation (APRO) and Assam Commando Battalions. Recruitment rallies will be held in various districts of Assam. Those candidates who are interested and fulfill the required eligibility criteria may apply online through the SLPRB Recruitment portal with help of this article.
Government of Assam has sanctioned 70 posts of Constables (WO/WT/CY) for newly created Assam Commando Battalions. These newly sanctioned 70 post will be clubbed along with 441 post of Constable (WO/WT/OPR) already advertised as the essential qualification and other criteria of both the post are same.
However, the candidate who applied earlier for the posts of Constable (WO/WT/OPR) against the advertisement dated 15/02/2022 need not to apply again and their candidature will be considered for the newly sanction 70 posts of Constables (WO/WT/CY) for Assam Commando Battalions also.

Other Eligibility Criteria of APRO Recruitment
Age Limit: Candidates age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 25 years as on 1st January 2022 (i.e., Candidate must be born on or before 01/01/2004 and on or after 01/01/1997).
Age Relaxation: Category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
- Trained Home guard: 3 years
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens, permanent resident of Assam. Selected candidates will have to submit proof of residence /Domicile Certificate after publication of the final select list. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC/MOBC are exempted from submitting such certificates.
Employment Exchange Registration Certificate: Candidates must register his/ her name with a local Employment Exchange in Assam.
Local Language Proficiency: Candidates must speak Assamese or any other state language fluently.
