Eligibility Criteria for Indian Navy SSR Recruitment
Age Limit: To be eligible for Indian Navy SSR Recruitment, candidates must be born between 01 Nov 2003 and 30 Apr 2007, inclusive of both dates.
Martial Status: Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible for enrollment as Agniveer. It’s important to note that Agniveers are not allowed to marry during their entire tenure of four years.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must meet one of the following educational qualifications:
- Qualified in 10+2 with Mathematics & Physics from Boards of School Education recognized by the Ministry of Education, Govt of India, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Passed a three-year diploma course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Automobiles/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from Central, State and UT recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate.
- Passed Two years Vocational Course with Non-vocational subject viz, Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognized by Central, State and UT with 50% marks in aggregate.

Selection Process of Indian Navy SSR Recruitment
The selection process for Agniveer (SSR) – 02/2024 batch involves two stages:
- Shortlisting (computer based online examination)
- Written Examination, PFT and Recruitment Medical Examination
Stage I (INET)
Shortlisting: All India computer based examination- INET would be conducted for shortlisting of candidates. Shortlisting would be based on marks obtained in the Indian Navy Entrance Test. Shortlisting will be carried out in state wise manner. The cut off marks for shortlisting for next stage of selection process may vary from state to state as vacancies have been allocated in a state wise manner.

Syllabus: The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness.
Negative Marking: Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers given by a candidate. There are four alternatives for the answer to every question. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
Stage II (Written Exam, PFT and Recruitment Medical)
Candidates who have been selected in the INET examination (an online computer-based exam) will receive a call-up letter for Stage II, which includes a written exam, PFT, and Recruitment Medical Examination. Stage II will take place at specific Indian Navy centers. The syllabus for the written exam in Stage II can be found on the official website. Please note that an Aadhar Card is mandatory for Stage II.
Physical Standards: Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is mandatory for selection. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. PFT standard is as follow:-

Recruitment Medical Examination: Candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test will undergo a Recruitment Medical Examination. Those who pass this examination will be eligible for the merit list. If a candidate is deemed medically unfit, they can appeal the decision at a designated military hospital within 21 days. Only medical fitness certificates from designated Military Hospitals will be accepted. No further appeals will be allowed.
Merit List: The merit list will be based on performance in the Stage-II written exam, as long as the candidate has passed the Physical Fitness Test and Recruitment Medical Examination. The merit list for Agniveer (SSR) – male and female candidates will be based on state-wise rankings. The cut off marks for recruitment at INS Chilka may vary depending on the state.
