NEET Result Date
The NEET (UG) 2024 exam took place on 5th May 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM IST. Following the exam, results were declared on 4th June 2024. Additionally, a re-test was conducted on 23rd June 2024 for 1563 candidates as per the Supreme Court’s order, with results announced on 30th June 2024.
NEET 2024 Re-Test
Pursuant to an order dated 13th June 2024 by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, a re-test was organized for 1563 candidates. Out of these, 813 candidates appeared for the exam held on 23rd June 2024. The re-test results were declared on 30th June 2024.
Gender-wise Participation
According to NTA, a total of 9,96,393 male candidates, 13,31,321 female candidates, and 17 transgender candidates appeared for NEET 2024. This significant participation highlights the exam’s extensive reach and importance in shaping medical careers in India.
Region-wise Registration
The state of Uttar Pradesh registered the highest number of candidates with 3,39,125 registrations, followed by Maharashtra with 2,79,904 and Rajasthan with 1,96,139 candidates. Other states with significant registrations include Tamil Nadu (1,55,216) and Karnataka (1,54,210).
Comparison with NEET 2023
In 2023, NEET-UG saw a total of 20,87,449 registrations, with the exam held on May 7th. The attendance rate for the 2023 exam was recorded at 97.7%, showcasing a steady increase in the number of aspirants over the years.
