India Post Recruitment 2023

Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India has released an employment notification for the recruitment of 1899 Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, Postman, Mail Guard and Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) posts under meritorious sportsperson category. 1. Postal Assistant

Number of Posts: 598 posts

Pay Scale: Level 4 (Rs 25,500 – Rs.81,100)

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
• Knowledge of working on a computer.

2. Sorting Assistant

Number of Posts: 143 posts

Pay Scale: Level 4 (Rs 25,500 – Rs.81,100)

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
• Knowledge of working on a computer.

3. Postman

Number of Posts: 585 posts

Pay Scale: Level 3 (Rs 21,700 – Rs.69,100)

Educational Qualification:

• 12th standard pass from a recognized Board.
• Should have passed the local language of the concerned Postal Circle or Division as one of the subjects in the 10th standard or above.
• Knowledge of working on a computer.
• Valid license to drive a two-wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle (For the post of Postman only). Persons with Benchmark Disability are exempted from the possession of a license.

4. Mail Guard

Number of Posts: 3 posts

Pay Scale: Level 3 (Rs 21,700 – Rs.69,100)

Educational Qualification:

• 12th standard pass from a recognized Board.
• Should have passed the local language of the concerned Postal Circle or Division as one of the subjects in the 10th standard or above.
• Knowledge of working on a computer.
• Valid license to drive a two-wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle (For the post of Postman only). Persons with Benchmark Disability are exempted from the possession of a license.

5. Multi Tasking Staff

Number of Posts: 570 posts

Pay Scale: Level 1 (Rs 18,000 – Rs.56,900)

Educational Qualification: 10th standard pass from a recognized Board.

Other Eligibility Criteria of India Post Recruitment

Age Limit:

• Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant/ Postman/ Mail Guard: Candidates must be between 18-27 years.
• Multi Tasking Staff: Candidates must be between 18-25 years.

Age Relaxation:

• Relaxation in the upper age limit by five (5) years shall be allowed in each case.
• Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) are eligible for an additional five (5) years of age relaxation.

Sports Qualification:

Candidates can be considered meritorious sportspersons under the following criteria:

• Sportspersons who have represented a State or the Country in National or International competitions.
• Sportspersons who have represented their university in Inter-University Tournaments.
• Sportspersons who have represented the State School teams in the National Sports/Games for schools.
• Sportspersons who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency.

Selection Process of India Post Recruitment 2023

The Selection Process of India Post GDS Recruitment consists of the following stages:

1. Preparation of Merit List: Candidates fulfilling the conditions and possessing the required certificates will be eligible for inclusion in the provisional merit list.
2. Cadre/ Circle Allotment: Candidates will be considered for their preferred cadre for all opted Postal Circles. Provisional merit lists will be prepared based on the information provided in the online application portal.

Note: Provisional merit list shall be prepared only on the basis of information provided in the online application portal and no additional information shall be entertained in offline mode before preparation of provisional merit list. Candidates are advised to give only the details of their highest participation / achievement in sports. For example, if a candidate has participated in both National and International events, she / he shall submit details of all such International events, for which he/she has valid Form-1, and need not give details of all other achievements.
