Selection Process of Assam Police
In this section, you will come to know about the selection procedure of Assam Police Constable Recruitment; for other posts, the candidates are advised to read the official notification/advertisement. All those candidates who have filled up their online application in correct manner in all respect will have to appear PST and PET. Any Candidate with any physical deformity as may be detected by the Medical Officer present in the Selection Committee he/ she will be disqualified from further tests.
Preliminary Verification of Documents
Before the candidate is allowed to appear in the PST and PET on the basis of the eligibility criteria set out above, all the original documents and a set of Photostat copies of the documents shall be checked. Rejected applicants will receive a notice of rejection, stating the reason for their refusal. At any stage, the candidate shall be disqualified and may be liable to criminal prosecution if he submits any incorrect information or forged documents.
At any later stage of the recruitment process, a candidate’s original documents may also be checked. Candidates shall have to provide a duly attested copy of any photostat they submit. At the time of PST & PET each copy of such document, especially caste certificates and any other documents with marks shall be signed by the Chairman or member of the Selection Board in order to avoid manipulation at a later stage.
Physical Standard Test
After all documents have been verified to be correct, the Candidates will have to undertake the PST (Physical Standard Test). undefined Measurement of the height, weight & chest ( chest measuring only male) of candidates using latest technology and preliminary check-ups such as knock knee, vision test, colour blindness test, flat foot, varicose vein, physical deformities etc. After clearing the PST, the next step that a Candidate will be required to undertake is the PET (Physical Efficiency Test).

After the PST and PET have been conducted to all the Candidates, merit lists that will show the Candidates in each category as per the vacancies available will be prepared based on the total marks obtained on the PET and converting it into a percentage. |
This will be done in merit list proportion where the candidates will be called for the Written Test in a ration of 5 (five) times the number of posts allotted in respect of each category. |
Written Test
The questions in written test will be 100 in number and written in the multiple choice form where a separate OMR answer sheet will be provided to the candidate for marking responses. For each correct answer the Candidate will get half mark. The questions will be right from the class IX & X standard Questioned based on general knowledge and intelligence. The total number of marks which will be awarded to the candidates for Written Test is 50 marks. The test will be in Multiple Choice Questions and there will be no negative marking. The question paper for Written Exam will be in the following languages: It adopted Assamese/ Bodo/ Bengali/English.
